Who we are:
Founded in 1978, GS&F is an award-winning, fully integrated marketing and communications agency. GS&F delivers proven results for clients by providing experienced marketing, creative, interactive, media, public relations and production specialists under one roof. GS&F staff numbers 75+ and our roster includes major regional, national and global clients. A fiercely independent agency, GS&F takes an audience-first approach to determine the path to each client’s most dramatic business potential. We expose the truth and create an experience around it with this approach.
Most importantly, GS&F is a fully employed-owned company. As a team member, you become an owner in the company.
Who we are looking for:
Our team consists of makers, analysts, creatives, strategists, thinkers, tinkerers and more. If you are a big idea thinker, can find a nugget of wisdom in the smallest data point, are relentless in your pursuit of doing great work and are unafraid to say the tough stuff, we want you here.
We’re looking for our next creative disruptor. Are you a strategic thinker who can combine big ideas with smart business sense? Can you lead a group of creatives and clients to concepts that win? Are you comfortable in front of senior client stakeholders and able to help them see their brand’s greatest potential? As a Senior Art Director, you should be able to manage a team of creatives, facilitate great conceptual work under tight constraints, have photography, video and broadcast expertise as well as an endless amount of energy to fight for the work.
You’ll likely need the following qualifications and experience to be successful in this role:
- We believe that years of experience is just a number; that said, typically someone in this role has 6–8 years of art direction, production, design or similar experience and has held previous positions as an Art Director and/or Designer
- Prior agency experience is strongly preferred, and often individuals who’ve worked in agency settings are able to get up to speed more quickly
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to take a concept from idea to execution while guiding cross-functional teams across various mediums, channels, and content types.
- Extensive broadcast experience, with a strong focus on art direction for photography, video and television productions. Must be skilled in managing on-set creative execution, ensuring alignment with brand vision and production goals. You should also be able to easily handle large scale productions with ease and those with lesser budgets.
- Mastery of digital best practices, seamlessly integrating them into workflows for online, mobile, and social platforms.
- Industry-specific experience in QSR, Food and Beverage, sports, durable goods, building products, automotive, or construction is a plus—or simply a passion for these areas.
- Persuasive communication skills, with the ability to pitch and sell ideas effectively to clients and internal teams.
- Commitment to excellence, championing best-in-class design while mentoring and motivating team members to uphold high creative standards.
- Versatility in content creation, producing work across social, display, OOH, radio, print, web, mobile, and more.
- Understands the value that other disciplines within an integrated setting can bring and champions “best idea wins” thinking, no matter from whom the idea comes
- Relationship builder, focused on developing healthy, productive partnerships with account management teams.
- Curiosity and awareness, staying ahead of trends, emerging media, pop culture, and disruptive campaigns.
- Isn’t afraid of voicing a dissenting or contrarian point of view, especially when it supports the brief, the creative idea, or the business objectives of a project
