Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to support and oversee warehouse operations under the direction of the Director of Warehouse Operations . This position involves managing daily activities such as inventory control, shipping, receiving, and team supervision. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will assist in maintaining efficient warehouse operations, ensuring safety compliance, and helping to resolve any operational issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
? Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, and order fulfillment. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all warehouse processes.
? Oversee the training, development, and performance of warehouse staff. Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and best practices. Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
? Assist in inventory control, manage stock levels, address discrepancies, and ensure efficient storage and organization of products. Track pull dates, monitor overstocks, and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
? Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and procedures to optimize warehouse performance, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
? Ensure the warehouse environment is clean, organized, and safe. Monitor safety standards and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and lead safety training.
? Oversee the scheduling and coordination of deliveries and shipments. Communicate effectively with truck drivers, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve shipping issues or discrepancies.
? Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse activities and prepare reports for senior management, providing insights and identifying areas for improvement.
? Ensure proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
? Work closely with other departments (e.g., purchasing, customer service, logistics) to ensure smooth warehouse operations and resolve inventory, shipping, or receiving issues.
Qualifications:
? Education: A high school diploma is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
? Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in e-commerce is a plus, though not required.
? Skills:
o Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control practices.
o Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced
environment.
o Familiarity with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
o Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements in a warehouse setting.
? Certifications:
o Forklift Certification (Preferred)
? Additional Skills:
o Basic computer skills with experience using warehouse management software and inventory databases.
Physical Requirements:
? Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
? Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
? Ability to work in various warehouse conditions.
