The Sensor Power and Analog Design (SPAD) department is seeking electrical engineers with knowledge of analog electronics, power electronics, power systems and servo/motor control systems. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of design experience, electronics knowledge, and hands-on laboratory skills.

SPAD is responsible for design engineering in the following areas:

  • Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators

  • Power Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls

  • Power Distribution - Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems

  • Power Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress Analyses

  • Control Systems - Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms

This position is an onsite role.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with a team of engineers to d evelop designs based on requirements, operational specifications, and RTX guidelines

  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion, analog circuitry or servo/motor control systems

  • Provide support to production, integration, and test activities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Execute to program schedules on time and budget

  • Demonstrate self-motivation

  • Travel to Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.

  • Coursework in the following areas: Analog Electronics, Power Electronics/Systems, or Control Systems

  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools

  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard.

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.

  • Hardware development experience

  • Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components

  • Existing US DOD security clearance

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
