What You Will do:

Are you passionate about creating a safe and compliant work environment? Do you have a knack for developing and implementing health and safety programs? GrandBridge Energy Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to strategically lead and direct our Safety Culture. This role is crucial in protecting our employees and organization from potential hazards while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Regularly inspect facilities and operations to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies and implement safety measures for various hazards.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root cause, and develop preventive measures.
  • Lead safety training sessions, including new hire orientations and ongoing programs tailored to specific risks within a diverse workforce.
  • Oversee compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal, pollution prevention, and hazardous materials handling. Promote environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions to ensure standardization of regulations across all locations.
  • Provide oversight to the Joint Health and Safety Committee and in collaboration develop and recommend proactive strategies for emerging health, safety, and environmental trends.
  • Assist in implementing the Business Continuity Program and act as a liaison with relevant agencies, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 year’s experience in environmental health and safety management, preferably in Energy, Construction, Manufacturing, or Oil and Gas sector.
  • Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CHSC) are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, advanced MS Office skills, and proficiency in safety management software, preferably eCompliance.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of industry regulations (ESA, MOL, MOE, OEB, OHSA, IHSA, WSIB) and standards (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, CSA Z-1000-06, Ontario Regulation 22/04, Emergency Preparedness/Business Continuity).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration among management and unionized employees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholder groups and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
