About the Position
We are looking for a Category Analyst - MRO (Maintenance - Repairs - Operations) who will be part of the Atlantic Category Management team, focused on supporting the category specialist. The incumbent will hold a strategic position in the Montreal office and will have the opportunity to travel (mainly within Canada and the United States) to meet with stakeholders and suppliers.
This position is an opportunity to work for a global procurement team and work closely with operations, processes, and global stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Category Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:
• Extract, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data from various procurement systems and/or platforms (e.g., SAP, Ariba);
• Autonomy in preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, conducting business analysis, participating in negotiations with suppliers, and creating award recommendations for contracts
• Conduct analysis and track expenses to support teams involved in managing different categories;
• Develop various tools (Power Apps Tools) to increase the efficiency of the team and supplier performance management (e.g., annual volume rebate management, cost reduction idea management, internal survey management...)
• Interact with the purchasing operations team and the category specialist to support progress in transactional improvement;
• Support in preparing and participating in monthly meetings with our preferred suppliers and tracking their performance using performance indicator analysis to contribute to the development of our long-term business relationships;
• Identification of category-generated savings and responsible for tracking within various systems;
• Support the development of category strategy while maintaining clean and updated agreements with suppliers and identify new opportunities to achieve savings.
About You
To be considered for this position, you must have the following skills and experience:
• Hold a bachelor's degree;
• One to three years of experience in procurement and supply chain;
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as a deep mastery of MS Office (advanced Excel skills e.g., pivot tables, charts, complex formulas, etc.); Power Apps Tools and Sharepoint
• SAP and Ariba
• Ability to analyze complex data, drive coherent interpretations. Great system capability, analyst data presentation, and recommendation contributing to strategic decision making.
• Experience working effectively with teams of different hierarchical authorities to produce results;
• Ability to adapt to different environments (US vs CAN);
• Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and French;
• Effective organizational skills, including time management;
• Ability to actively promote the organization's brand image by demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to execution in all actions;
• Ability to develop clear and up-to-date procedural documentation.
