What you will be doing


Reporting to the Manager of Customs, the Customs Broker is responsible for ensuring the smooth clearance of our clients’ goods through Canadian customs. You will act as a liaison between importers/exporters and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), ensuring compliance with all federal and regional regulations.


You will be contributing to that vision by…


· Prepare and process import/export documents and other forms on behalf of clients according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.

· Process incoming shipments with Canada customs to obtain release.

· Arrange delivery for shipments to customers.

· Trace shipments via Ocean/Air /Courier platform daily.

· Arrange payment of terminals/handling fees on shipments.

· Quote duty and tax rates on commodities for clients and update client profiles with proper HS codes, tariff treatments, and vendor information.

· Ensure entries are done in a timely manner to avoid storage and delays to customers.

· Answer customer queries about the status of shipments.

· Communicate with agents on customs issues to resolve problems with shipments.

· Support duty drawback processes and Canadian Duty Deferral program compliance.

· B2 form preparation.


What skills & experience you will bring to us


· 1 – 2 years of experience in a Customs support role

· Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) a strong asset

· Strong knowledge of global supply chain and logistics process

· Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a focus on relationship building.

· Mathematical and Financial Skills: Ability to work with numbers, spreadsheets, and data entry software.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy required for documentation and daily duties.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a high pace environment.

· Refined problem-solving and negotiating skills.

· Proficiency in MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills preferred.

· Ability to provide after hours, weekends, and statutory holiday support as needed.

· Ideal starting date is December 16, 2024

· You will receive a permanent full-time contract with a 40-hour work week.

· Parking is available on premises.

· You will have 15 vacation days per year.
