PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor manages activities of the warehouse operations including receiving of parts and machine components, shipping of spare parts, shipping of new machinery and management of returns to vendors in coordination with the Purchasing department.
In direct collaboration with the PM team and other Operations teams ensures the Assembly and Wiring teams are provided with the level of support required for them to operate at maximum efficiency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIE S
- Provide supervisory management for warehouse personnel
- Management of the Warehouse and Kitting of parts process
- Help to establish criteria and processes for managing inventory, storing and supplying parts to the Assembly and Wiring teams.
- Ensure all approved processes for receipt of incoming material and parts into the ERP system are followed without exceptions
- Coordinate parts pickup from vendors as required to keep delivery dates
- Ensure the approved process for kitting of parts for new machines and retrofits is followed
- Manages the process for parts finishing
- Inventory Management
- Ensure inventory is accurate in the ERP system – quantities and locations
- Reconciles discrepancies in inventory levels to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain
- Take lead in execution of periodic cycle counts and full annual inventory
- Shipping of new machinery to customers
- Arrange appropriate transportation to meet projects requirements
- Ensure new machines delivery schedules are met.
- Develop and maintain freight costs and freight carrier relationships to meet service and cost guidelines.
- Shipping of Spare Parts
- Ensure orders of spares parts are crated / shipped on time and accurately.
- Ensures all necessary shipping & customs documentation for International and North American shipments is timely prepared
- Maintain accurate documentation of shipments of spare parts
- Vendor returns
- Ensure surplus purchased parts from projects are restocked into inventory and provide Purchasing Dept. with the required vendor return information
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively promotes awareness in health and safety to prevent injuries and accidents
- Coaches and mentors staff members.
- Ensure the warehouse is maintained in a safe, orderly condition and safety rules are observed for lifting and forklift truck operation.
- Ensures all production areas are maintain clean, organized and free of debris
- Implements and maintains process improvements, establishing best practices for parts supply management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in an office-like environment (50%) with occasional trips to the assembly floor and around the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas
- Hearing acuity required for safety reasons while on the assembly/manufacturing floor
- exposure to high noise from machines operating nearby during visits to the assembly floor
- Work requires extended periods sitting down or standing up depending on the particular tasks of the day.
- Works with computer for prolonged periods of time

- 100% adherence to company computer policy is required
INTERACTION WITH CUSTOMERS / SUPPLIERS:
- Supports the Purchasing department interactions with suppliers and vendors as required
- Very limited interaction with customers.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent communication skills, oral and in written report format. Able to express thoughts clearly in good verbal and written English.
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics or business administration or equivalent work experience
- Exposure to machinery manufacturing field is an asset
- Above average command of office tools such as Microsoft Office & ERP Systems
