Job Description

We are a leading national distributor of cable, connectors and electrical connectivity technologies based in Savage, Minnesota. Under the general direction of the Sr. Director Supply Chain & Customer Operations, this individual is responsible for managing 2 buying direct reports along with owning a vendor portfolio for buying. This role will have the responsibility to coordinate the end-to-end supply chain which includes the planning and strategy of sourcing and purchasing of materials. The Supply Chain Manager will control costs as well as make recommendations to improve productivity to achieve individual and company goals and objectives.


 Responsibilities

  • Primary Role: Responsible for managing a package of manufacturing partners (suppliers)

Place purchase orders for selected suppliers / Make buying decisions

Monitor open purchase orders for date accuracy

Monitor fill-rate, on-time arrival, and inventory turns

Assist sales (internal customer) on day-to-day sourcing questions

  • Secondary Role: Manage, train, and develop two additional Buyers on the Team.

Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to meet customer needs and minimize excess stock.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, and finance to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
  • Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control procedures to minimize stock-outs and overstock situations.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and enhance supply chain performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in supply chain management and assess their potential benefits for the organization.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop career development plans for team members
  • Address and resolve any supply chain-related issues that may impact customer service.

Promote sustainable and ethical practices within the supply chain
