Position: Construction Superintendent
Location: NO RELOCATION NEEDED - 80% travel from your residence primarily to Texas, but will include Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina and others
Target Salary: $75,000-$95,000
Bonus: 10-20% bonus at the end of duration

Target Individual: We need someone with a strong construction knowledge with preferable experience in multi-family. This person will be the liaison between our operations team and the onsite labor workforce. The crews have their own Project Manager so you're really the onsite eyes and ears and working with the tenants and property management to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to join us in executing our vision. The Facilities and Capital team plays an integral part in this mission by ensuring our communities are in immaculate and safe physical conditions for our residents and by maximizing profitability for the business.
The Construction Superintendent is a contracted position providing expertise and advisement for assigned capital projects within our portfolio of student housing communities. This position is responsible for onsite construction supervision including quality assurance, safety compliance, assisting with budgeting and bidding, interpreting blueprints, performing take-offs, and estimating costs. The Construction Superintendent is responsible for ensuring feasibility and consistency with company standards regarding all technical specifications and will collaborate with various people for successful execution.
Your Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the corporate Facilities and Capital team and property management personnel to determine project requirements.
• Ensures personnel have access to the appropriate equipment and materials for each project.
• Directs day-to-day construction activities and provides constructive feedback to ensure mandated or contractual deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Proactively communicates project updates to Property Management and Capital Projects teams and establishes fluid communication.
• Assists with maintaining organizational compliance with Venture governance expectations regarding bidding and contracting process.
• Ensures both OSHA and Scion's and safety and security standards are met at each construction site for the entirety of the project. Maintains current knowledge of local quality, safety and health guidelines for each job site.

What We Require:

• College graduate preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of previous construction and supervisory experience, preferably within the student housing or a similar multi-family sector.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel 80% or more in a year.
• Obtains a valid driver's license.
