Payroll AdministratornnSummarynnTitle:Payroll AdministratornnID:1648nnLocation:Wellsville, NYnnDepartment:Human ResourcesnnMore about this job >nnDescriptionnnSummarynnCollect, compile, record employee time and process payroll data. Process existing employees’ job transfers. Process and reconcile child support and tax withholding payments. Audit and prepare annual W-2’s. Prepares and files weekly Union Steward Reports. Prepares and remits monthly union fringe reporting and payments.nnEssential FunctionsnnReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.nnAnalyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll data (weekly and in the event of lay-offs or make-up checks, could be daily). Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.nnAssists in preparing and filing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (i.e. tax deductions, steward reports, garnishments, union fringe reporting, etc.)nnMaintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.nnRemains current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with other departments.nnRespond to written employment verification requests in a timely manner.nnMaintains electronic filing database for employee files.nnAssists in auditing, preparing, editing, and distributing annual W-2’s.nnAnswers employee payroll inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.nnSupport all internal and external audits related to payroll information.nnAssists in maintaining onboarding packets to include most current tax forms.nnProcess union rate and fringe benefit updates when required.nnEnsures confidentiality of employee records is maintained.nnServes as phone back up in receptionist’s absence on weekly basis.nnOther duties as assigned by management.nnCompetenciesnnHuman Resources Capacity.nnFinancial Management.nnTechnical Capacity.nnCommunication Proficiency.nnEthical Conduct.nnTime Management.nnProblem Solving.nnSupervisory ResponsibilitynnThis position has no supervisory responsibility. This job operates in a clerical office setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.nnPhysical DemandsnnThis is largely a sedentary role; however; some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.nnPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorknnThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Saturdays rotate and the hours are 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Evening and other weekend work may be required as job duties demand.nnRequired Education and ExperiencennAssociate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.nnAt least 1 year of experience with payroll systems, processes, and related software programs is desired.nnPrevious experience with union fringe reporting is helpful but not necessary.nnPENTA ERP system experience is a plus.nnHeavyJobs Time entry system experience is a plus.nnPreferred Education and ExperiencennRelated work experience with in-house payroll systems and processes.nnWork experience in a union environment.nnOther DutiesnnPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
