Summary:
We are seeking a Vascular Technologist/Sonographer to provide patient and provider support by using ultrasound imaging technologies for carotids, AAA, resting and exercise ABI, renal, upper, and lower extremity, Hemodialysis graft, Vessel Mapping, Reflux, Mesenteric and Pseudo Aneurysm ultrasound examinations at Rex Vascular Specialist in the Raleigh, NC location.
*This position qualifies for a $15,000 commitment incentive which will be paid over a three (3) year work commitment. Equal installments will be paid after each six (6) months of work completed. Learn more about the incentive program here:
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine vascular ultrasound examinations, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices.
- Ability to thoroughly, and efficiently, evaluate pathology following current guidelines (Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU), Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS), etc.).
- Have a strong understanding for medical terminology and vascular conditions.
- Assist in the reaccreditation process and quality improvement program for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC-Vascular).
- Analyze patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
- Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines.
- Explains to patients the process of the ultrasound and answers any questions the patient may have. .
- Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, off-line analysis systems as indicated.
- Ensure reports are complete and accurate with all billing requirements.
- Attends required staff meetings and ensured continuing education requirements met to support professional growth and certification.
- Assist with the daily operation of a high paced vascular surgery practice.
- Assist in prioritizing assigned work based on workflow fluctuations.
- Excellent customer service experience.

Education Requirements:
• Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR
• Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. VT or ARDMS preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Prefer candidate with strong vascular experience or interested in Vascular Imaging . Excellent customer service skills, ability to work and prosper in a team environment, proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, understanding of physiology and how it relates to vascular conditions.
The Vascular Technologist plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions. By utilizing sonography techniques, they will provide accurate diagnostic evaluations. You must have a strong understanding for medical terminology, anatomy and physiology to accurately analyze the images and data needed.
