Our work depends on TS/SCI Cleared Storage Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Arnold, MO or Springfield, VA.nnHOW A STORAGE ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACTnnResponsibilities and DutiesnnDesign, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade and support various storage and backup platforms and associated management tools.nnDiagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and other related technologiesnnAdhere to engineering and architecture standards and participate in technical review meetings as requirednnParticipate in the evaluation, deployment, management, and integration of new technologies in alignment with other engineers, architects, and technical service lanesnnIncident support and participation in on-call rotation during off hours and weekendsnnCreate and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books and other technical engineering documentsnnConsistently demonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processesnnOversee the Installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating proceduresnnOversees the updates to hardware, operating systems, and software as needed to provide required functionality and securitynnEnsures systems are monitored and statistics relevant to capacity, performance, utilization, etc. are collected and regularly reviewednnKeeps abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction of storage and backup technologynnWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:nnRequired Qualifications and SkillsnnBS degree and 5+ years of related experience; or equivalent combinationnnHands on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and conceptsnnExperience with SAN, NAS and iSCSI storage implementationsnnExperience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environmentsnnExperience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environmentsnnExperience with data center migrations and storage replication technologiesnnSenior level experience with design, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centersnnStrong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environmentnnStrong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, EthernetnnStrong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc.nnUnderstanding of security best practices, federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.)nnCompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certificationnnProficient written and oral communication skillsnnStrong collaborative attitude and ability to work in a team environmentnnAbility to take directionnnDesired Qualifications and SkillsnnNetApp CertificationnnPowerShell/Python scripting experiencennExperience leveraging scripts to audit and enforce configuration standardsnnAmazon Web Services / C2S experiencennLocation: On Customer SItennUS Citizenship RequirednnGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:nn? 401K with company matchnn? This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
