Job Description: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Washington, DC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary - $50-$60K
Position Overview:
Cordia Resources is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join the dynamic team at one of our top clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial records. This role is critical to maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the financial operations of our growing development company.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Management: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Payment Processing: Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records in the accounting system.
Expense Management: Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
Vendor Relations: Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries, discrepancies, and payment status.
Reporting: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accounts payable reports and accruals.
Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role, preferably within the development or construction industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Yardi) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
