Construction Superintendent/Senior InspectornLinkedIn Twitter Email Message SharennConstruction Management/Inspection - FacilitiesnnNew York, NYn*nID: 21875n*nFull-Time/RegularnnJohnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is a dynamic, 100% employee-owned consulting firm of more than 2,300 professionals that provides a full range of construction management, multi-disciplined engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services to public agencies and private clients throughout the United StatesnnJMT is seeking a Construction Superintendent/Senior Inspector in the New York Metro area to be responsible for providing construction project oversight using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives defined by the client; ensuring work is performed and completed in strict accordance with the contract documents; acting as a technical advisor to the Owner and other team members; teaching and mentoring less experienced team members; and, other tasks as may be required..nnThe annual salary range for this position is $110,00.00 - $145,00.00.nnEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesnnMaintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, architects/engineers, and contractorsnManage and coordinate field/inspection staffnManage project schedule from inception to close outnRun project job-site meetingsnReview contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specificationsnReview and approve contractor monthly requisitions and invoicesnReport on project issues and provide status updatesnPerform other duties as may be requirednnRequired SkillsnnMust successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screeningnStrong verbal and written communication skillsnEffective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staffnAbility to take charge and effectively manage contractors to meet project schedulenKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 30HR OSHA Safety cardnThe ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environmentnAbility to evaluate contractor provided construction CPM schedules, including logic and sequencingnStrong written and verbal communication skillsnStrong organizational and time management skillsnStrong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job donennRequired ExperiencennMinimum of five years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Senior Inspector, Construction Management Representative, Owner's Representative or Construction SuperintendentnExperience with building renovation projects and building system repair and restoration projects that involve the active management, oversight and/or inspection of multiple construction trades and close coordination with the Government/Owner on construction issuesnOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety trainingnKnowledge and experience working with the Owner's Project Managers on project costs and budgets, processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reportsnExperience using construction management software (eBuilder, Procore, etc.) to communicate construction progress and process documentationnnPreferred ExperiencennBachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction ManagementnCertified Construction Manager, or Project Management Professional (PMP)nExperience on public buildings (public housing) projectsnExperience working with NYC local agenciesnnWorking ConditionsnnWork is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
