Under the general direction of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), in the Program Support Accounting Section the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs the average difficulty payment functions of assigned DGS program offices including the proper recording, reconciliation, and reporting of accounting information and appropriations while maintaining the proper internal controls. The accounting task are performed in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services (OFS) guidelines, Governor's Budget, Department Of Finance (DOF) rules and regulations, California Department of Human Resources (Cal HR) policies, California Prompt Payment Act, State Administrative Manual (SAM), and Government Codes, utilizing Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) People Soft and Microsoft Office Suite.
This position may be downgraded to Accountant Trainee for recruitment purposes. If downgraded, duties will be adjusted accordingly.
