Position Overview: The Payroll Administrative Assistant is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, supporting Payroll Administrator teams. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Duties/Responsibilities: - Assists in every day data entry;
- Hires new employees into the payroll system;
- Makes changes and updates to current data;
- Files and saves documents;
- Scans and saves documents;
- Answers phone calls and directs them to the correct party;
- Responds to and answers emails in a timely and professional manner;
- Sorts through and distributes daily incoming mail;
- Handles garnishments and verification of employment inquiries;
- Other duties may be assigned as need by management.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as record keeping and filing;
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong mathematical skills;
- Ability to keep company and partner confidences;
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as record keeping and filing.
Education and Experience: - Associate's Degree preferred;
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to three months’ related experience and/or training in administrative support and/or payroll administration;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: - While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard;
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work;
- Light to moderate lifting may be required;
- Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate;
- Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic);
- Ability to work in a confined area;
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
