The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of surgical patients who come under his /her care.
The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the physician with the preparation of and the technical aspects of the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures. Performs routine technical and various other duties as required.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with detailed, confidential material, computer experience required.
  • Ability to follow directions and work with precision under pressure.
  • Maintains sensitivity, maturity, and flexibility in coping with difficult situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Certified Surgical Tech experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Certified Surgical Tech program
  • Active unencumbered Certified Surgical Tech Massachusetts state license
  • One year of Epic experience
