Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in own function and throughout multiple business areas. Act as a lead engineer in his/her area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant technological advances and integrate this knowledge into new business technology solutions. Technology Engineers will be aligned to a specific area: Information, Software, Data, or Infrastructure.nnIn this role, you'll be responsible for:nnConceive, design, engineer, and implement software and technology solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.nnDemonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies and platforms related to software design and development, programming languages, data integration, data warehousing, data analysis and visualization tools, data storage, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments.nnPerform data profiling to understand data nuances, build data pipelines and analytics tools to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.nnWork with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.nnDemonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutionsnnHighly autonomous and productive in performing activities, requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor. Keeps key stakeholders informed through effective verbal and written communication.nnMatures and leverages relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.nnMay mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.nnUnderstand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.nn**This role will require 3 days in the Mettawa office. Candidates who are not local or within a commutable distance would be expected to relocate.nnQualificationsnnWhat makes you a strong candidate for this role:nnRequired:nnBachelor's Degree with 7 years experience; Master's Degree with 6 years experience; PhD with 2 years experience.nnExperience in implementing cloud based data solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, Glue and bid data tools like Spark, EMR, Hadoop etc.nnHands on experience on data profiling, data modeling and data engineering using relational databases like Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server; ETL tools like Informatica IICS; scripting using Python, R, or Scala; workflow management tools like AutosysnnExperience with stream processing systems like Kafka, Spark streaming etcnnExperience in Java, JMS, SOAP, REST, JSON, XML technologies, along with Unix or Linux scriptingnnImplementation experience of DevOps CICD automation and working in an agile project delivery environmentnnBeneficial:nnKnowledge of data cataloging tools such as Alation, Manta etc.nnAWS Certification as Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Developer/Data Engineer is preferrednnUnderstanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts is preferrednnExperience with reporting tools like PowerBI or Tableau is preferrednnAdditional InformationnnApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ?nnThe compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
