Systems Administrator (On-Site Role)
Job Overview
As a Systems Administrator, you will provide day-to-day technical support to resolve end-user issues and ensure smooth IT operations. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, you’ll address technical challenges via phone, email, remote tools, and in-person assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Help Desk Support : Resolve escalated tickets by identifying needs and implementing best practices.
- System Deployment : Install, configure, and deploy PCs, servers, operating systems, and applications, including updates (may require occasional nights/weekends).
- Server Maintenance : Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain servers and enterprise applications.
- Active Directory : Manage user and computer accounts.
- Web Filter Management : Troubleshoot and resolve blocked websites.
- Server Management : Deploy, configure, and maintain servers in both virtualized and traditional environments.
- Network Monitoring : Diagnose and resolve software and networking issues, automating routine tasks where possible.
- Device Management : Manage mobile devices using Intune, develop system images, and package applications.
- Hardware Upgrades : Install and test components such as memory and disks in a test environment before production.
- Security & Authentication : Maintain directory services, manage MFA authentication, and enforce security best practices.
- Documentation : Create technical documentation, training materials, and standards.
- Technical Evaluation : Assess systems, recommend improvements, and assist with hardware/software purchases.
- General IT Support : Provide additional technical and networking assistance as needed.
Skills and Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Office 365, Azure, Teams, and SharePoint (user account management, troubleshooting, and maintenance).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, group policies, and networking protocols.
- Experience with image deployment, application delivery, and device management.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks independently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to stay updated on technology changes and adapt to new systems.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT or related fields.
- College-level coursework in computer science, information systems, or related fields.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certification.
- Cisco Certification.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable bending, kneeling, or crouching as needed.
- Reaching overhead to install or maintain servers.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional indoor/outdoor tasks.
- Moderate noise levels.
