Position Overview
- Title: Director of Design and Engineering
- Reports To: President/Vice President
- Direct Reports: Engineering Managers, Design Leads, Engineering and Design Teams
- Primary Role: Provide strategic leadership to engineering and design teams, driving innovation and managing complex projects aligned with company goals.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement engineering and design strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and manage teams to promote excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Project Management:
- Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring adherence to quality, scope, budget, and timelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with various departments and consultants to ensure cohesive integration of engineering and design efforts.
- Resource Allocation:
- Optimize personnel, budgets, and technologies for maximum productivity.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide guidance on building codes and engineering principles to help teams address complex challenges.
- Innovation:
- Promote a culture of innovation through the adoption of advanced technologies and methodologies.
- Quality Assurance:
- Establish and uphold quality control processes to ensure high standards in deliverables.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, design, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8 years of experience in engineering and design leadership, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards and emerging trends.
