This individual will play a pivotal role in our financial management department, overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, preferably within the legal industry, with a strong emphasis on strategic planning, budgeting, and financial analysis. Responsibilities: As our Permanent Controller, your responsibilities will include: 1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. 2. Supervising, mentoring, and coaching a team of accounting professionals. 3. Managing all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses. 4. Ensuring all financial operations comply with federal and state laws and regulations. 5. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements. 6. Coordinating activities of external auditors. 7. Evaluating and managing risk. 8. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. 9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be an added advantage. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field. 3. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller. 4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. 5. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
