Summary:As the Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in Apollo America's strategic growth. You will help shape both the long-term vision and day-to-day execution of the company's sales and marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for driving sales and profitability in the Commercial business segment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the needs of our customers and market demands.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, ensure high customer satisfaction to drive retention and upsell opportunities, and maintain consistent, timely communication to address concerns and share updates.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop tailored account growth strategies, deeply understand client business goals and industry trends, and anticipate client needs with proactive recommendations.
- Sales and Business Development: Drive upselling and cross-selling to maximize revenue, manage contract renewals to secure long-term partnerships, and achieve or exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Problem Solving and Issue Resolution: Address client issues promptly and professionally, resolve conflicts with mutually beneficial outcomes, and escalate complex matters to ensure timely resolutions.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the client's voice within the organization, gather and act on feedback to improve services, and foster loyalty and advocacy through exceptional client experiences.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicate the value propositions of products or services, both in writing and verbally, to clients across all organizational levels.
- Time Management and Organization: Manage multiple accounts and priorities efficiently, use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and project management tools to stay organized, and balance immediate client needs with long-term goals.
Experience, Skills, and Education Requirements:- Minimum of 5 years in B2B sales or business development, with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales growth.
- Proven ability to drive sales with urgency and to manage complex sales cycles.
- Strong experience in product marketing, including the ability to define and communicate customer value propositions.
- Deep commitment to a structured and consistent sales management process, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) to support sales efforts, customer meetings, and industry events.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working in a small-company environment with high levels of accountability and cross-functional collaboration.
- A strong commitment to ethical business practices, maintaining the highest level of integrity in all dealings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, etc.) This includes a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis, and experience in creating professional PowerPoint presentations with engaging visuals. Expertise in organizing and managing emails, schedules, and documents using Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of UL/ETL/BSI Safety Standards: UL (Underwriters Laboratories), ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories), and BSI (British Standards Institution). Knowledge of these safety standards allows for familiarity with industry regulations and guidelines, ensuring products or solutions meet safety requirements.
- Negotiation skills, especially when dealing with large clients or high-value contracts.
- CRM experience to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction, loyalty, and business growth.
- Familiarity with the Wireless Detection/Electronic Sensing Industry
Location:- This position is in our Auburn Hills, Michigan office, reporting to the Wireless Business Manager.
