ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customers' most challenging questions as a Senior Applications Scientist. As a Senior Applications Scientist, you will:
• Work directly with the sales force to interact with customers to understand their application needs to recommend the best product configuration for them
• Act as customer trusted advisor, consult customer about solutions options after understanding their needs & expectations
• Develop Product Specifications for OEM customers
• Constantly engage with existing and potential customers. Identify their needs, ability to articulate customer's problem statements, and propose solutions that will help customers be successful
• Support qualification testing of new products at customer sites
• Work as project leader and customer advocate on all assigned projects.
• Accurately record customer issues and document resolutions
• Identify opportunities for product and solution improvement, feedback to R&D, and influence design/product requirements
• Maintain a thorough understanding and broad knowledge of customers, competitors, and market products and solutions offered
• Perform remote & on-site services as required. May require travel to customer sites
• Deliver technical demo/training/knowledge transfer to customers/partners as required

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate brings a natural curiosity and passion for being an assistant, tackling ever-changing challenges and has a knack for making things happen. A "can-do" attitude, collaborative spirit and flexible work style are also essential in this role. This person should a self-starter and bring extensive experience in Applications Engineering.

Our ideal candidate brings should possess the following combination of experience and qualities:
• Experienced with 7+ years or more of experience and a degree in a technical field. In depth knowledge of spectroscopic principles
• Act as a mentor to junior level team member
• Expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: chemistry, biochemistry, optics, or an Engineering disciplines
• Self-starter able to think and act independently to translate general objectives into tangible results, with a record of delivering successful designs on schedule
• Be able to help in negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving skills.
• Have exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Be able to mentor less experienced applications engineers
• Always approachable, have the drive to take initiative, and enjoy connecting with people. Create opportunities to promote a solution that brings value to the customers
• Energetic, willing to learn and explore technology with a can-do attitude.
• People-centric focus with the ability to collaborate with all teammates across the organization
• Strong initiative, work ethic, and levels of enthusiasm
• Understanding of general business and financial principles
• Excellent presentations and technical documentation skills to communicate internally and externally to the organization
• Extremely good with interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• BS or higher in a technical field (M.S or PhD preferred)
