Description
The RFID Engineer role is responsible for the implementation and development of RFID technology at Brook + Whittle. Responsibilities include creating internal processes, reducing reliance on external consultants, and creating a new revenue stream through technology innovation through RFID. This position involves project management, collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers, and the strategic expansion of RFID capabilities across the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the continuation of RFID inventory management implementation and the creation of reporting systems throughout the New Albany facility.
• Create internal quality processes and capabilities for RFID that align with current quality standards.
• Work closely with RFID consultants to identify areas for improvement in existing quality control processes and workflows.
• Internalize RFID encoding processes for both Tamarack and offline encoding systems so that we have the capability in-house.
• Provide ongoing support for Sprink and Brook + Whittle commercial teams and ensure we are meeting internal objectives.
• Manage the internalization of the ALEC approval process.
• Build a localized RFID team to prepare to transition roles and responsibilities as well and establish and lead a cross-functional RFID team that will support multiple facilities.
• Develop in-house expertise to reduce dependency on RFID consultants to ensure the role contributes positively to the bottom line.
• Collaborate directly with sales teams and customers to identify new business opportunities and revenue streams through RFID.
• Identify and assess the next Brook + Whittle facility for RFID production and develop an implementation plan.
• Oversee the rollout and scaling of RFID capabilities at additional facilities.
• Stay informed on the latest developments and trends in RFID and smart packaging technologies, analyzing their potential impact on the company's operations and customer requirements.
• Provide insight and recommendations to leadership team to ensure we are adopting new trends and continue to develop solutions for our customers.

Requirements
Job Requirements:
• Demonstrated understanding of RFID technology
• Proven ability to manage complex projects
• Strong communication skills to communicate to internal and external customers
• Strong analytical skills to identify issues, evaluate potential solutions, and implement effective resolutions.
• Ability to make data-driven decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
• Previous experience with RFID systems, smart packaging, or similar technologies.
• Proven track record of managing projects and leading teams.
• Experience working with consultants and internal stakeholders to improve processes.
• Familiarity with sales support and customer-facing roles is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
• Regular exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc
• Incumbent constantly required to hear, speak, articulate, use color vision and use manual dexterity
• Incumbent regularly required to stand, walk, grasp and reach
• Incumbent occasionally required to climb, lift up to 30 lbs, carry, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
