Role Summary

Thomson Reuters® CoCounsel, Transactional team creates trusted and innovative product experiences for the rapidly changing Legal industry. The Director, Product Management is responsible for ensuring that our users get the maximum value from our solutions. Heavily focused on growth, you will design user journeys that accelerate adoption and scale in both our existing and new channels. As a strategic leader, the Director, Product Management will coach a high-performing team of product managers, drive high-level strategy and roadmap for our next-generation solutions and own growth. You will partner with engineering, design and other product leaders to define and deliver user-centric solutions that improve the working lives of our customers while driving profitable growth for the business. The perfect person to join us would be someone who cares about the end-to-end customer experience, is empathetic towards customer problems and combines this with insight from substantial first-hand experience as a lawyer.

About the Role

In this role as a Director, Product Management, you will:
  • Conceive and lead the development of game-changing content and A.I. enabled transactional use-cases to drive adoption and growth of CoCounsel for Transactional attorneys both at firms & in-house.


  • Achieve this by creating A.I. skills & agentic experiences to enable end-to-end user-journeys to allow customers to efficiently and effectively achieve their transactional Jobs to be Done.


  • Directly influence product strategy and execution, drive growth, adoption and retention within our legal portfolio.


  • Be a thought leader and authority within your space using research, data and competitive & market analysis to inform strategic & tactical decisions.


  • Develop effective cross-functional relationships (with technology, customer experience design, marketing, sales, etc.) to deliver high-value, innovative experiences to TR customers.


About You

You are a fit for the role of Director, Product Management if your background includes:
  • First-hand experience and therefore deep knowledge of transactional legal workflows, having worked for several years within a Corporate legal team and/or law firm.


  • Experience of both Legal software and content sides of TRs business, specifically with strong knowledge of Practical Law.


  • Strategic thinking and comfortable with ambiguity.


  • Strong commercial acumen, able to deliver an innovative idea from paper to product which customers will love and serves our businesses goals.


  • Deep understanding of the LegalTech competitive landscape.


  • Highly accountable, efficient, and results-oriented; takes ownership and drives a sense of urgency without losing sight of the long-term vision.


  • Strong experience in direct customer interaction at a senior level, be it as a PM or adjacent customer facing field.


  • Has a learning and empathetic mindset, curious, bold, self-aware, and humble.


  • Clear and concise communicator who can excite and motivate teams internally and drive alignment, trust, influence and buy-in with a wide range of internal and external audiences


  • Strong people leader familiar with agile principles and experience of closely partnering with SMEs, Product, Engineering & Design

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: Eagan, MN; Ann Arbor, MI; Richmond, VA; Rochester, NY. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $149,700 - $277,900. Chicago, IL; Frisco, TX; Houston, TX; fully remote location. For these locations and any eligible US locations not otherwise noted, including for fully remote location if applicable, the base compensation range for this role is $157,500 - $292,500. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
