Role Summary
The Director of Technical Services at Kings River Packing, LP will oversee and coordinate all technical services activities, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, managing product support, and maintaining quality assurance standards. This role is crucial for optimizing technical operations, maintaining strong relationships with departments, packing house operations, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Director of Technical Services will report to the Vice President of Operations and work closely with various departments to align technical processes with business objectives and market demands.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement technical services strategies to optimize operations
• Align technical activities with the company's long-term goals and market trends
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive technical initiatives and improvements
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
• Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional development
• Develop strategy for environmental compliance efforts
• Develop and implement training programs for employees to ensure they are up-to date with the latest industry standards and technologies
• Serve as a key leader during crisis management, which depends on severity of situation, this position directs cross-functional response team to evaluate and determine corrective action, as required to ensure food safety and quality of products
• Oversee the QA department and ensure daily QA support at sheds and review rejections with shed teams
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance technical services efficiency and effectiveness
• Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into KRP processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the technical services functions
• Communicate technical strategies to the executive team
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of activities with overall business objectives
• Represent the technical services department in cross-functional meetings and projects
• Ensure all technical services activities comply with industry regulations and company policies
• Resolve escalated issues and discrepancies
• Perform other work-related duties and projects as directed
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in agriculture business, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience of technical services management, or a related role within the agricultural industry. 10 years preferred
• Current knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, CDFA, FSMA, etc.)
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Must have demonstrated capacity to work well with others, strong organizational and communication skills, and service-focused attitude
• Proficiency with Famous software preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Alignment with the company's mission and core values
• Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with daily interaction with staff
• This role may require occasional local travel
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Salary & Benefits
• $140,000 - $160,000 annually, DOE
