Primary Role - Ensure the plant is in full compliance with existing International Quality Standards Regulatory requirements, manage the document control system, and review daily plant quality data for trends that could lead to product defects. Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures, instructions, and programs designed to minimize deficiencies, ensure compliance, minimize customer complaints, and operate the quality system at the lowest possible cost. Drive root cause analysis for all field failures and plant/supplier quality issues. Responsible for the review of new and proposed quality related activities and interpreting the potential impact on operations, procedures, facilities, and reporting requirements. Overall Quality department responsibility including Quality Control personnel management.
Key Accountabilities:
- Must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report of actual and potential accidents and injuries. Must comply with safety policies of the company and site.
- Ensure the plant adheres to international standards for ISO 9001:2015. Includes maintenance of Quality Management System as needed, periodic QMS reviews, internal auditing, Document control oversight, KPI monitoring, Management of change interaction, Management Review, and audits.
- Familiarity with EPA FIFRA requirements, EN900, NSF, and Kosher standards. Includes notifying management in a timely manner of regulatory inspections, serious deficiencies, process deviations, product defects and related actions.
- Supervise Lab Staff- 8 lab technicians, one supervisor (Performance Reviews, Schedule, etc.)
- Lead internal and external complaint investigations. Includes Customer complaints, supplier complaints, corrective / preventive actions, and effectiveness review.
- Coordinate & lead various certification audits. Includes Kosher, EPA and Product Safety, NSF, etc.
- Sponsor any large scale quality projects, provide quality impacts insight on plant projects as needed.
- Coordinate QA/QC requirements for Suppliers, Quality Assessments, Quality Visits, etc., and assist various business segments with Supplier Questionnaires, statements, non-routine CoC requests, new material qualification requests, etc.
- Responsible for Department Budget & Costs
- Track and report all quality metrics.
- Align with processes and expectations of Global Quality leadership. Work with cross-functional teams, ensure that integration with Solenis policies is considered, including regional toll manufacturing.
Education: Bachelor of Science - Chemical engineering, chemistry, or other related technical study program.
Experience: Quality experience required in large chemical manufacturing setting of 10 years or greater in an ISO certified business environment.
- Prior supervisory or management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite is required
- Working knowledge of basic lab instrumentation
- Experience managing an ISO quality system
Other: ISO Certified Auditor certificate preferred but not required
