- Serves on the leadership team as a strategic partner to actively develop and support operational goals. Delivers strategic and operational advisement to senior management.
- Responsible for overseeing HR management and department operations to ensure initiatives are in line with the organization's goals and mission.
- Coordinates with management to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. Develop SOP's and audit processes for HR administration to support management across departments/programs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for organization leaders to discuss tactics to enhance employee productivity and retention, employee engagement, and relationships.
- Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for HR issues and when evaluating organizational needs.
- Oversee recruitment efforts to ensure that the organization is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates. Create and implement recruitment plans to support current and future hiring needs. Special attention is paid to building relationships with local universities, education programs, etc. to expand our reach and exposure.
- Identify ways to increase staff retention including strategies to enhance total rewards.
- Partner with leadership to develop a total rewards/pay philosophy, regularly review compensation and benefits market data, monitor pay practices and proactively work with payroll to review and audit processes. Design, implement, and administer reward strategies.
- Ensure the open enrollment process for all employees is efficient and effective.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement technology and/or software needs for the HR function. Oversees the HRIS and optimizes and integrates the processes to allow for more efficient administration.
- Establish and report on HR metrics. Analyze data and report on data to senior leadership to identify the needs of the organization.
- Manage the Human Resources financial budget
- Oversee the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process. Ensure that supervisors are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching, collaborate effectively when co-managing staff, and encourage staff to actively participate in identifying and addressing performance gaps.
- Manage high level ethics around employee relation investigations.
- Mitigate legal risk to the organization through proactive training and education, clear systems and processes for managing conflicts with and between employees, handling and investigating complaints of harassment/discrimination and other unjust practice allegations.
- Partner with the Training Department on both leadership and competency-based training at all levels of the organization; assessing both current and future needs.
- Oversee Leave Administration processes and procedures in line with federal and state rules and regulations (ADA, ADAA, FMLA, WC, Sick Leave, etc).
- Develop and direct safety and wellness culture for the organization.
- Engage and mentor HR direct reports.
- Ensure knowledge, skills, and abilities are kept current through ongoing professional development, research, outreach, etc.
- Must comply with all MBS safety related protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications and requirements: - Bachelor's degree required, with concentration in HR preferred, Master's a plus
- SHRM certification a plus
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years of experience being in a leadership position
- Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of employment laws, compliance rules and regulations, and leave administration (ADA, ADAA, FMLA, WC, Sick Leave, etc.)
- Budget management skills
- Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a highly independent, unstructured, but results-oriented environment
- Ability to deal effectively, fairly, and courteously with all people in a variety of environments and from diverse backgrounds.
