Role at a Glance We are looking for a thoughtful compliance manager to lead the development of Gecko's corporate compliance and trade controls program. As Gecko expands, both domestically and internationally and across multiple customer categories, we are in search of a highly-organized individual to help us track our compliance obligations and regulatory challenges and address gaps. This will include managing existing policies and procedures, creating documentation, and building process implementations. It is essential that the candidate be self-motivated and comfortable working cross-functionally to engage the requisite stakeholders and seek out necessary information from across the organization.
What you will do - Compile, organize, and draft company compliance policies
- Ensure compliance with the existing suite of obligations by reviewing current obligations, tracking compliance against them, and building out operational workflows
- Oversee and maintain the company's export and trade controls compliance program
- Develop a regulatory compliance roadmap and keep teams abreast of regulatory developments
- Enable Gecko's business by mitigating risks and building out processes to reduce friction
- Collaborate with business teams on due diligence reviews in connection with business development activities
- Develop and provide trainings on ethics, risk, and compliance topics
About YouRequired Skills- Educational minimum - bachelor's degree
- Experience minimum - 5 years' experience in building, supporting, and/or managing corporate compliance programs
- Knowledge of security and privacy compliance and regulatory standards
- Knowledge and understanding of US export controls (particularly ITAR and EAR)and trade sanctions regulatory requirements, frameworks, and expectations
- Experience working with Directorate for Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) for ITAR licensing
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally, including with business, finance, and technical stakeholders
- Excellent program management skills, with the ability to plan and execute on multiple simultaneous projects
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate under pressure in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills- Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/U.S./E) or other relevant professional certifications
- Experience with/working knowledge of AI compliance laws and regulatory frameworks (US and/or EU)
