The Purchasing Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the purchasing process. This includes vendor relationships, procurement strategies, inventory management and cost control. The Director is experienced in managing procurement teams, has a keen eye for detail and strong understanding of supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure the timely procurement of quality goods and services.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure favorable conditions for the company.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels, and efficient order processing.
- Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and new suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding procurement and supply chain management.
- Lead, train, and develop the purchasing team to improve productivity and performance.
- Prepare and analyze purchasing reports, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the seamless flow of goods and services required for operations.
- Resolve any procurement-related issues or supplier disputes in a timely manner.
Qualifications:- Associate's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software (Oracle).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
