Description
The Sales Engineer position is a combination of technical design knowledge and sales skills. This position concentrates heavily on project design and quoting. Its main purpose is designing and quoting projects for the Northeast region customers.
Job Duties:
• System design using industry knowledge on medium to complex implementations.
• Review and answer RFPs on medium to complex electronic security projects within specified timeframe.
• Produce quotes and bid documents for consultants and customers.
• Development of scope of work, device schedules, sequence of operations documents as requested.
• Support Account Executives and Business Development Managers
• Provide design support, guidance, and instruction on implementation of integrated systems and solutions.
• Perform new technology evaluations and tests.
• Able to offer and identify value add propositions.
• Assist Program Managers with system assessments, design, and quotes as needed.
Experience and Skills:
• Excellent knowledge of system design, field devices and applications.
• Ability to create scope of work documents and sequence of operation documents.
• Effective communication skills including the ability to follow procedures, document questions, and determine unstated assumptions.
• Comprehensive understanding of installation methods, best practices, and procedures.
• Understanding of programming capabilities and how it relates to system design.
• Able to read and understand specifications, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Understanding of electronic security technology, installation methods, and system design.
• Full understanding of network topology and understanding of Cyber Security as it relates to system design.
• Understanding of all platforms installed and serviced by the company.
• Milestone Systems®, Genetec, RS2®, AMAG®, Feenics®, S2®, OpenEye®, Avigilon®, exacqVision® Stentofon, 2N®, and Bosch® Intrusion (within 1 year).
Requirements:
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Excellent product knowledge and system design ability.
• Ability to proactively research technical documentation online.
• Must have a valid US Driver's License
• Meet state qualifications alarm licensing and electronics security personnel as required.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Ability to operate in multiple Microsoft Windows® environments and configure settings adjustments as required.
• Effectively use basic office software such as Connectwise®, Microsoft Excel®, Microsoft Word®, and Microsoft Outlook®.
