Chemours is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our growingteam! This position will report directly to the Reliability Manager at our Pass Christian, MS location.

The role will support efforts to improve Site Reliability, Mechanical Integrity, Quality Assurance and Preventable Maintenance, to support and enhance the Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) requirements of Chemours Process Safety Management (PSM) program at the site. The engineer will be expected to drive mechanical issues to root cause improvements using a team-based approach. This role will include analyses of a range of equipment issues as well as maintenance and reliability support. The engineer will be expected to provide timely, accurate analyses and recommendations for small, acute issues, as well as develop long term strategies for defect elimination and improved operations.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide technical assistance to develop and implement Mechanical Integrity/Quality Assurance (MI/QA), reliability, and PPM programs for the unit. Audit these systems and maintenance activities for improvement opportunities.
  • Periodically review preventive maintenance plans to assure optimum process and frequency of performance, for reliability and Mechanical Integrity needs.
  • Perform failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM)
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis teams (RCFA), kaizen events, and problem solving sessions.
  • Initiate management of change (MOC) documents to improve the production area.
  • Perform & document equipment criticality analysis
  • Work with plant's inspector group to ensure appropriate inspection technologies are being used and assessing quality of inspection plans
  • Review inspection reports and analyze data to determine fitness for service, quality of inspection, appropriate inspection interval, etc.
  • Provide mechanical engineering assistance to maintenance and operations including: troubleshooting, evaluation of equipment failures, and technical recommendations for repairs and upgrades, and ownership of improvements.
  • Develop knowledge in area specific equipment to become subject matter experts for the review and preparation of maintenance inspection & work procedures and skills development/training.


The following is required for this role:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage and lead both strategic long-term programs/projects as well as address short-term operational issues.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas with a diverse team.
  • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Basic understanding or willingness to learn principles and techniques including:
  • Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Maintenance and reliability best practices
  • Predictive techniques for fixed, rotating, power distribution equipment and instrumentation e.g. vibration analysis, nondestructive testing, thermography, etc.
  • Fixed equipment diagnostic technologies


The following is preferred for this role:
  • Six Sigma certification or training in statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with national standards such as RAGEGAP, API Standards 510 & 570 & 653, and ASME Codes B31.1 &B31.3 and NBIC.
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance systems, with respect to Process Safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Familiarity with Piping systems
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment and vibration analysis

Pay Range (in local currency):
$81,715.00 - $127,680.00

Annual Bonus Target:
6%
