Department: Technical

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Kyger Creek

Compensation: $6,181 - $10,976 / month

Description

Engineer I
Perform assignments requiring the application of engineering knowledge in such activities as planning, design, research, development, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, project management and operation at assigned location.

Engineer II
Engage in tests for obtaining, compiling, calculating and analyzing technical data for the control and improvement of equipment efficiency. Engage in testing, maintenance, and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Participate in the planning, budgeting, and coordination of activities. Assist in studies and investigations into departmental engineering problems and assist in making recommendations for viable solutions.

Engineer III
Perform advanced engineering assignments; conduct tests and make recommendations in connection with departmental engineering issues. Guide the planning, budgeting, and coordination of activities. Participate in reliability studies and processes; investigate, analyze and provide solutions regarding critical equipment. Work with limited supervision and lead teams to achieve specified goals.

Engineer IVEngage in studies and investigations into departmental engineering problems and make recommendations concerning solutions. Assume supervisory responsibilities as assigned. Direct and/or oversee the planning, budgeting, and coordination of activities relative to the engineering needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide recommendations for the repair and/or replacement of critical components to reduce plant EFOR, improve availability and maintain environmental compliance.
  • Plan and conduct routine tests on equipment.
  • Take data from tests and compile, calculate, plot, interpret and report with conclusions and recommendations.
  • Facilitate the conception of improved systems and equipment.
  • When assigned asset ownership, carry out duties and responsibilities outlined in the OVEC-IKEC Asset Health Handbook.
  • Perform special tests or investigations.
  • Analyze operating charts and other operating data to determine equipment performance or operating procedure; interpret results to suggest improvements to be made.
  • Conduct surveys to root cause of equipment failures and process inefficiencies.
  • Observe and supervise the calibration of instruments, meters, scales and recorders; analyze and make suggestions for improving or establishing these calibrating procedures.
  • Investigate causes of complaint and assist when necessary.
  • Keep informed of the latest practices and procedures in engineering and consistently apply these to ensure efficiency and economy.
  • Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state safety laws and regulations, and all applicable company safety rules and operating procedures; when supervising others, assure that safe work practices are followed and conduct safety meetings; make suggestions for the improvement of the safety program and encourage others to do so.
