POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Position overviewThe Facility Manager plans, establishes, and directs a facilities management program. The Facilities Manager coordinates the maintenance, renovation, and upgrade of existing building infrastructure. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the safe operation and maintenance of the real property assets at the worksite.
Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):- Provide expert management and technical guidance staff in order to accomplish construction projects and recurring preventive and emergency maintenance and repair work.
- Coordinate all alteration, repair, and replacement projects and may be required to prepare technical specifications and/or develop design drawings for new projects.
- Provide direction and technical guidance in the planning, funding, management, and direction of facilities engineering studies and reports.
- Perform technical review of designs and proposals developed either at the government site, or by other agencies, and conducts feasibility studies to determine the maintainability of the proposed design.
- Ensure that all required project actions are understood and carried out in accordance with the decisions and directions of senior leadership, including following up on decisions and ensuring the completion of required actions in a timely manner. Any identified concerns are to immediately be brought to the attention of the customer for action.
- Work closely with the key stakeholders in planning complex, high priority special projects involving facilities management.
- Coordinate the involvement of architectural, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty disciplines.
- Provide support in project planning, review, and construction phases.
- Enlist the support of other staff as necessary to accomplish project objectives within the established timeframes.
- Ensure all project objectives are met and that resulting recommendations for action are sound and practical and include implantation plans. Follows up to ensure that approved recommendations are successfully implemented.
- Develop and train facilities management personnel.
$120,000 to $130,000 Annually
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- At a minimum, the Facilities Manager (FM) must possess a bachelor's degree education, in at least one of the following: Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or a closely related degree in an engineering discipline.
- FM shall have a minimum of 8-10 years maintaining large commercial/industrial properties comparable in size to the Albuquerque Complex, with fundamental knowledge of building systems, sequence of operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building management systems, and custodial activities.
- FM must possess the knowledge to manage the maintenance requirements for a facility independent of the Project Manager.
- FM's resume must reflect experience managing a LEED certified complex, or Certified Facilities Manager International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) certification or equivalent certification from a third-party governing body related to the management of commercial/industrial facilities.
- Certifications to be reviewed by the COR/ACOR prior to hiring.
