Sous Chef (competitive pay)
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our familia. Mission is a busy, buzzy taqueria in Center City, and we're looking for someone with the energy to match!
Mission operates on a 5 day schedule, so you would need to be avilable Tuesdays through Saturdays, but you'll have off Sunday/Monday every week. This position covers dinner service, so to be eligible, you would need to be available to work evenings/nights.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and supervising kitchen staff
- Ensuring consistency of execution and quality across all menu categories
- Inventory management
- Food expo, communication with BOH & FOH staff during service
- Occasionally working various stations on the line, preparing and breaking down assigned station
- Scheduling
Skills
- Experience 1+ year(s) as a Sous Chef in a busy concept
- Knowledge working various stations including grill, fry, and sauté
- Contributes to a positive and proactive culture in the restaurant
- Ability to troubleshoot while remaining calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
- Spanish language fluency/proficiency is a plus
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays, lift 40 pounds, and stand for long hours
