About the Department of Pediatrics The Department of Pediatrics and theChildren's Hospital of the University of Illinois is home to>120 faculty, 39 Pediatric Residents, 16 Med/Peds Residents, 14 Fellows, anda growing, nationally ranked pediatric research program. Each year, our facultyreceive more than $10 million in research grants. The Children's Hospital ofthe University of Illinois scored in > 6 specialties for three years in theUS News and World Report Survey. The Partnership for Pediatric Care encompassingthe inpatient units at Children's Hospital of the University of Illinois (CHUI)and Cook County Health includes more than 110 beds (16 pediatric intensivecare, 24 step-down, and 70 neonatal intensive care unit). Designations includeLevel III NICU, PCCC (critical care), EDAP (emergency room), and Burn andTrauma (CCH). The Partnership for Pediatric Care provides convenient access tooutpatient services at more than 30 locations including Mile Square FederallyQualified Health Centers and Cook County Health clinics. The Section of Developmental and BehavioralPediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics atthe University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking an Open Rank Faculty(Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician (DBP) to join our team. Facultyrank will be commensurate with experience.
The Department of Pediatrics at UIC has a strongcommitment to improving health equity and the ideal candidate will share thiscommitment through their activities in clinical care, teaching, service, scholarly work, anddiversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
All clinical and teaching activities will be inthe outpatient setting. The position offers career development including: 1)research opportunities for those who have an interest; 2) leadershipopportunities within the department; and 3) development of new educationalprograms including a potential fellowship program.
The successful candidate will joinmultidisciplinary leaders in DBP clinical care, advocacy, and research. TheSection of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics includes threeboard-certified developmental and behavioral pediatricians, one psychologist,one advanced practice nurse practitioner, and one clinical pharmacist.

Qualifications:
  • MD/DO or equivalent.
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
  • Illinois medical license/license eligible.
