Summary:

This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's APRN or PA according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff. Must be able to obtain a Delaware license to practice in field of specialty and hold a DEA upon eligibility.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of general surgery patients, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide advanced clinical care, including post-operative management, wound care, and other necessary procedures.
Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient response.
Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Serve as first assist in the OR
Provide consultations in the emergency department and on the nursing units.

MSN with completion of CRNFA or willing to complete RNFA program.

Masters degree from accredited PA program with first assist.
Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
Licensed in the state of Delaware or able to obtain prior to beginning.

Advanced clinical skills in surgical care, including post-operative management and emergency response.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Essential:

*Master of Science in Nursing with completion of CRNFA or willing to complete RNFA program

*Master of Physician Assistant Studies
