Job Responsibilities:
As a Family Medicine Physician at Oak Orchard Health, you will be part of a dynamic care team and provide a full scope of primary care services. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Clinical Leadership: Lead the care team in medical decision-making and provide supervision and collaboration to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs).
- Patient Care:
- Perform Health History and Physical Examinations (HPI).
- Diagnose and counsel patients on treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with New York State regulations.
- Perform minor surgical procedures as necessary.
- Generate referrals for patients requiring services outside of primary care.
- Review patient data (labs, reports, diagnostic imaging, etc.) and manage follow-up care.
- Complete accurate and timely chart documentation.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance projects and peer reviews.
- Assist in the development and update of medical protocols.
- Participate in outreach programs and off-site healthcare initiatives.
- Professional Development:
- Maintain Board Certification in Family Medicine or become Board Certified within 18 months of hire.
- Stay updated on evidence-based primary care through Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Requirements:
- Education & Licensing:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Current New York State medical license.
- DEA certificate required for prescribing medications.
- Certification:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine.
- CPR Certification required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in family medicine or primary care settings is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
