Union Liaison
Location: New Jersey Resident (must reside in New Jersey)
Job Overview:
The Union Liaison serves as a senior outreach representative for PSE&G's Business Energy Saver Program. This role involves fostering relationships with New Jersey-based unions, including electrical, mechanical, and labor unions, as well as collaborating with trade allies, clients, and utility customers. The Union Liaison will track and report union participation against program targets, conduct community outreach, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of union operations, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Outreach & Engagement:
Promote PSE&G’s Business Energy Saver Program to unions and other stakeholders.
Identify and engage with NJ-based unions eligible to participate in the program.
Conduct onsite visits to union locations, engaging with members and stakeholders.
Partnership Building:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with IBEW, mechanical unions, and related organizations.
Collaborate with Trade Ally Networks to foster partnerships between trade allies and union affiliates.
Manage union-affiliated Trade Ally networks, including project support and pipeline development.
Reporting & Program Management:
Track and report union participation against program targets using Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
Provide regular updates on outreach efforts, challenges, and successes.
Deliver presentations to union stakeholders highlighting the program’s benefits.
Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback on outreach strategies to improve program participation.
Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing program outcomes.
Travel Requirements:
Travel within New Jersey (>40%) to attend meetings, events, and program activities.
Occasional out-of-state travel (~10%).
Regular in-office presence at TRC NJ office in New Brunswick (bi-monthly).
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 8 years of professional experience, with a focus on union or union-affiliated organizations.
Strong understanding of union challenges, particularly electrical and mechanical unions.
Proven track record of relationship building with diverse audiences.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to engage and present to union members and community stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal, advocacy, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in facilitating group discussions and stakeholder engagements.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Reliable transportation and ability to cover associated expenses.
Reside within or near PSE&G’s service territory, preferably in overburdened communities as identified by the State of New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the energy or utility industry.
Credentials such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) or CEM (Certified Energy Manager).

Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Work Location & Schedule:
Hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and onsite duties.
Travel extensively across New Jersey and occasional out-of-state travel (~10%).
