Job Description:
The Analyst – Grid Operations and Engineering Support will provide technical, analytical, and project management expertise to enhance grid operations and support engineering initiatives. This role will focus on data analysis, outage management, project tracking, and system optimization, contributing to Client mission to deliver reliable and innovative energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze outage data to identify patterns and trends that inform grid improvement projects, such as Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration (FLISR).
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and models to provide actionable insights for grid reliability and operational efficiency.
Utilize tools such as SQL, Excel, and advanced data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI).
Project Coordination:
Support grid modernization initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams to evaluate project feasibility, manage budgets, and track progress.
Assist in the deployment and management of advanced distribution management systems (ADMS) functions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet budgetary and timeline requirements.
Operational Support:
Work closely with control center staff to review switching plans and ensure accuracy in technical operations.
Support system operators during unplanned outage events by providing technical guidance and analysis.
Maintain and update ADMS models to reflect accurate grid topology and system configuration.
Training and Documentation:
Develop and deliver training materials for technical tools, procedures, and best practices for engineering and operational teams.
Assist in creating technical documentation for new technologies and processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in utility operations, engineering support, or a related analytical role.
Familiarity with grid technologies such as ADMS, FLISR, or AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure).
Experience managing budgets and tracking project performance.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
Basic programming skills (e.g., VBA or Python) are a plus.
Understanding of substation operations, protection systems, and NERC compliance (preferred).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and translate technical data into actionable insights.
Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
