Research Associate I - Biology (Pre-Pivotal Biologics Development)

Schedule: Standard Office Hours
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay: $35-40/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate expertise in CRISPR nuclease screening techniques.
• Conduct NGS library preparation and INDEL analysis using Illumina sequencing platforms.
• Lead efforts in Targeted Locus Amplification (TLA) and long-read sequencing using PacBio and/or Oxford Nanopore technologies.
• Drive process improvements to enhance speed and efficiency in developing robust, high-quality cell lines that meet regulatory standards.
• Actively engage in hands-on laboratory operations, including molecular biology, shake flask experiments, bench-scale bioreactor operations, and novel culture platforms.
• Contribute to technical documentation, regulatory submissions, group presentations, and cross-functional collaborations.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Educational background:
  • B.S./M.S. in biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or a related field, with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Ph.D. in the above disciplines with 0-2 years of experience.
• Proficient in technical communication, report writing, and presentations, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Experience with statistical and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Spotfire).
• Skilled in designing, constructing, and evaluating vectors for recombinant protein expression across various formats.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, meeting deadlines effectively.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
