What will you be doing in this role?

n

As a per diem Occupational Therapist in Acute Therapy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, you will assist in performing evaluations, demonstrate appropriate treatment interventions and strategies &Complete discharge planning for patients.

n

You will have working knowledge of subject matter domain areas in clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory and reimbursement context.

n

Ability to deliver safe, appropriate, ethical and evidence-based care in an effective, efficient and professional manner; incorporates feedback, self-reflection, sound clinical reasoning and problem solving to continuously improve quality of care and operational processes.

n

Demonstrates good decision-making/problem solving skills. Exhibits good clinical reasoning skills and judgments in managing patients.

n

Demonstrate standard computer skills, use of electronic health record, and office skills as relevant to duties.

n

Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system (specifically including keyboard and mouse skills). As applicable to individual job duties and expectations, employee must additionally possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation development, e-mail, browser and online reporting.

n

The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.

Qualifications

Education:

    Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program is required.

    Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program is preferred.

    Doctorate Degree Completion of formal occupational therapy education is preferred.

License required:

    Valid and current license as an OT in the state of California

  • n

    Valid and current CPR certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience required:

    Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing therapist and evidence of ability to perform at this level.

    Prefer acute care experience. Working experience with an electronic healthcare record preferred.

  • Able to push, pull, lift up to 100 lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend,stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions.
