The Office of Licensure, Accreditation and Regulation (OLAR) assists the organization in staying current and compliant with regulatory standards, licensure requirements and survey preparations. OLAR accomplishes this by interpreting, communicating, and educating all levels of medical center staff regarding new and revised standards/regulations.
As an Accreditation Specialist for OLAR, you will maintain the organization's accreditation status by providing ongoing coordination and consultation to organization leaders in maintaining and developing the accreditation management program. You will also be responsible for
  • maintaining licensure from various organizations, such as Joint Commission (JC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), CMS and OSHPD.
  • assisting with liaison activities with accreditation and regulatory agencies (i.e. California Department of Health, The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, etc.) including tracking, evaluation and submission of required documentation, survey preparation, arranging on-site visits, required responses, and completion of action items.
  • participation in the organization's readiness rounds program and is responsible for the communication, implementation and tracking of action plans necessary to close identified gaps in care or compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Title 22 regulations.
  • leading and conducting survey preparatory project meetings and project tracking, analysis and identification of deficiencies necessary to correctly achieve compliance with standards.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing or healthcare administration required; Master's degree highly preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
  • Current California Registered Nurse License.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • ANCC or national nursing specialty certification required.
  • Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP) certification required within 1 year.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years recent acute and/or health-care setting regulatory experience required.
  • Experience with Midas, Epic/Electronic Health Record(EHR), County Health Systems and OSHPD preferred.
