With dinner on the horizon that includes the addition of wine and spirts we are looking to add a General Manager to our team who has strong experience is elevated dinner service. You would train with our current management team in order to understand the flow and intricacies of the restaurant and then the shift would sit in between the two services in order to be an ear of support to the floor managers.
This is an opportunity to shape the culture and steps of service for dinner at an established restaurant that cares about the wholistic vision of the hospitality industry from our farmers to our team members.
Producer Driven Wine knowledge / background is a must.

Job Overview
- Day-to-day Restaurant Operations
- This includes but is not limited to a daily walkthrough of Office, Sqirl Away, Walk-In, Restaurant (Including Dish Area, Dry Storage, Bathroom), and Roof
- Ensure LA County Health Department and safety protocols are being maintained and are in a state of inspection-readiness (sani buckets, equipment, etc.)
- Determine any building maintenance issues, solve when possible and reach out to the owner if i may be outside of your purview
- Oversee operations in compliance with legal, OSHA, and other regulatory agency requirements
- Be a strong floor presence and support to the staff
- Make sure that you are communicating with your team – if you have to step off the floor for any reason let the liaison (or another lead person) know where you will be and when you will be back
- Assist with any guest issues that arise and try to solve fully and promptly while guest is present
- Assist with running//bussing//bar backing//to go orders//phones//etc.
- Be present on the floor for the whole shift, gauging when the slower/appropriate time to break or do admin are (before 9am and after 2:30/3pm weekdays)
- Be aware of flow and sales to best cut staff, give projects when appropriate
- Financials and Profitability
- Controlling FOH labor (managing overtime and general labor costs, clock-ins/outs, tip sheet, and oversight of hourly schedule in partnership with other FOH management and owner)
- Submit bi-weekly payroll (and provide an overtime report to the owner)
- Imbue team with menu knowledge and modes of communication to ensure ordering
- Monitor financial performance in partnership with the owner including annual budgeting and operating plans, covers/revenue goals, and achieving budgeted expense targets
- Policy and Procedure Oversight
- Oversee consistent “Steps of Service”
- Consistently work with the team to improve and streamline systems
- Communicate, implement, and consistently enforce all Sqirl policies
- Hospitality
- Oversee ticket times in connections to online platform timing
- Identify opportunities to provide thoughtful service touches
- Teach FOH team to be confident in their service skills and take ownership for moments of high hospitality
- Provide a second set of eyes for items leaving the kitchen and drinks leaving bar
- Assist larger management team in overseeing the cleanliness and organization of the business
- People Management and Leadership
- Set the tone for a positive, hardworking, and fun Sqirl culture
- Recruit, interview, onboard and conduct initial training of new restaurant colleagues
- Lead disciplinary conversations and ultimately terminate and off board employees if applicable
- Foster opportunities for the colleagues to learn, grow and develop their abilities
- Mentor FOH management/Establish clear communication systems throughout the week
- Lead weekly FOH Meeting with Bar Manager and Floor Managers to survey for any needs and address any issues. Report back to the owner with any purchase requests and major issues
- Own the FOH manager schedule
- Oversee catering onsite and off-site events
- Assist in Sqirl IG Story content by taking snapshots of service and submitting to the owner when applicable
- Assist FOH management in maintaining the backend of POS and online delivery platforms
- Assist FOH management with menu maintenance/printing, training materials and side-work sheets for FOH hourly staff
