Job Description Summary
MUSC Health - Orangeburg is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in the acute care (consideration for outpatient and inpatient rehab will also be considered). This position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients who would benefit from the skills of a physical therapist. As a PRN Physical Therapist, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about physical therapy, possess strong clinical skills, and have the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Weekend availability needed.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with physicians and other providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and assess patients, review medical histories, and interpret diagnostic tests.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' goals, functional abilities, and condition severity, utilizing evidence-based practices and considering the unique needs of each patient.
3. Implement therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular reeducation, balance training, and functional mobility training, to enhance patients' physical function and coordinate quality care.
4. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and reassessments to monitor patients' progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and ensure optimal outcomes.
5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate safe and effective patient care, promote interdisciplinary communication, and ensure a coordinated approach to rehabilitation.
6. Provide education to patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, energy conservation strategies, and home exercise programs to enhance recovery and facilitate successful transitions to the next level of care.
7. Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
8. Adhere to infection control protocols, safety procedures, and ethical standards during patient care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
9. Stay updated with advancements in physical therapy research, evidence-based practices, and emerging trends in the field.
10. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
11. Mentor and provide guidance to physical therapy assistants or other support staff as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Qualifications:
1. Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program preferred.
2. Current licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist in South Carolina.
3. Previous experience working as a Physical Therapist with exposure to a wide range of medical conditions and patient populations.
4. Strong clinical skills in evaluating and treating a variety of medical conditions, including mobility impairments, deconditioning, and functional limitations.
5. Proficiency in conducting functional assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
6. Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular reeducation, and balance training.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
8. Proficient in documentation and record-keeping practices, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
9. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and strong critical thinking skills.
10. Commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and staying abreast of current research and advancements in physical therapy.
