Job Summary
1. Patient management (evaluation, development, and implementation of treatment plan directed toward optimal rehabilitation of each patient, program development). 2. Administrative (basic understanding of corporate to department operational policy, fiscal awareness - fee structure, budget, supervision, and utilization of support personnel, peer review and Quality Assurance. 3. Interdisciplinary relationships (works with other disciplines to assure optimal patient-outcomes).
Responsibilities
• Organize and conduct a physical therapy program to restore function and to prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. • Help the patient reach maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of capabilities. • Responsible for evaluation, treatment, treatment plans, charges, verbal and written reports to physicians, discharge planning and acquisition of equipment as needed and patient and family education. • Translate all exercises into functional activities or activities of daily living. • Professional growth and continuing competency. Continues to participate in learning experiences both within and outside of CAMC. Maintain ethical standards of practice. • Program development - identify needs for program development, and participate in developing and implementing these programs. • Community responsibility - Participates in programs to inform community and the medical profession of the value, availability and proper utilization of physical therapy, activities to recruit to the profession and general activities concerned with planning and delivery of health care.
