JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Surgery
Shift Timings: Morning Shift 07:00 - 15:30 Hours

• CST duties for 9 OR surgical unit. Primarily General, Gyn, Bariatrics, Spine, DaVinci, Plastics, Breast oncology limited orthopedics and retinal.
• All room staff assist with room turnover and patient care.
• On call required with 30 minute response time.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
• Sterilizing equipment and instruments.
• Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.
• Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
• Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
• Tracking surgical supplies.
• Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
• Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team.
• Helping provide great patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• BLS Provider American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Graduate from a fully accredited certified Surgical Tech program
• Minimum three years of Certified Surgical Tech experience
• Active unencumbered Indiana state license

Requirements:

• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
