JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Surgery
Shift Timings: Morning Shift 07:00 - 15:30 Hours
- CST duties for 9 OR surgical unit. Primarily General, Gyn, Bariatrics, Spine, DaVinci, Plastics, Breast oncology limited orthopedics and retinal.
- All room staff assist with room turnover and patient care.
- On call required with 30 minute response time.
Roles & Responsibilities - Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
- Sterilizing equipment and instruments.
- Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.
- Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
- Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
- Tracking surgical supplies.
- Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team.
- Helping provide great patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- BLS Provider American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Graduate from a fully accredited certified Surgical Tech program
- Minimum three years of Certified Surgical Tech experience
- Active unencumbered Indiana state license
Requirements: - COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
