Position Summary Reporting to the Coordinator/Director, the
Night CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-precision CT scans and procedures using advanced CT technology. This role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and adherence to established protocols to ensure exceptional patient care and diagnostic outcomes. Monday - Thursday
Core Responsibilities Night CT Technical Duties - Obtain patient history to ensure proper procedure selection.
- Optimize image quality by selecting appropriate technical factors.
- Evaluate images for quality, making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate CT equipment, reporting malfunctions as needed.
- Operate Power Injection systems, ensuring accurate technical settings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology recognition.
Patient Care & Safety - Explain CT procedures to patients, addressing questions or concerns.
- Identify contrast allergies and administer pre-medications per protocol.
- Start IVs and monitor injection sites during Power Injection procedures.
- Report any IV infiltrations according to department policies.
- Involve patients in decisions about their treatment.
Operational & Departmental Support - Manage patient flow and maintain departmental protocols.
- Assist with training new CT staff, job shadow participants, and students.
- Coordinate with radiologists to ensure accurate exam protocols.
- Maintain adequate room stock of supplies and linens.
Data Management - Verify and document patient orders and history to ensure accurate diagnosis.
- Ensure timely transfer of images to PACS for radiologist review.
- Maintain accurate exam codes for proper billing.
- Perform additional tasks such as scanning documents into PACS, burning CDs, or working with workstations.
Organizational Responsibilities - Attend department meetings and complete mandatory training, competencies, and certifications within required timeframes.
- Maintain active CPR certification and ARRT registration.
- Consistently follow universal precautions, protective equipment protocols, and ergonomic techniques.
- Uphold regulatory compliance and organizational policies.
- Adapt to shift adjustments, including overtime or additional hours, as required.

Qualifications Education & Certification - Associate degree or completion of an accredited Radiography program.
- ARRT certification and Indiana State X-ray license required.
- Registered in CT (required within six months of eligibility).
- Current CPR certification is required.
Experience - 1-2 years of radiography experience preferred
- 6 months of CT experience is preferred but not required.
Skills - Expertise in CT equipment and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Proficiency in sterile techniques, including intravenous catheter administration.
- Strong organizational, technical, and patient care skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands - Work is performed in a hospital and patient care setting with state-of-the-art equipment .
- Must have the physical ability to stand/walk for long periods, push carts, lift patients (up to 35 lbs. unassisted), and provide CPR.
