- POSITION STANDARDS
- Associates Degree from accredited cardiac ultrasound program or RDCS/RCS-eligible background with 1 year of cardiac echo experience.
- Proficient on all equipment in the lab within the first 3 months of employment.
- Certified through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echocardiography.
- Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
- BLS certification required.

- PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Position Objective
- Performs basic adult cardiac echocardiogram procedures to include 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler and 3-D LVEF Echocardiograms.
- Performance Expectation
- Performs all basic adult cardiac echocardiogram procedures. Edits tracings, makes measurements and enters data into computer. Distinguishes between normal and abnormal cardiac findings.
- Performs cardiac sonographer duties to meet departmental needs including recognizing arrhythmias and implications of specific cardiac and related diagnoses to obtain optimal studies. Operates complex equipment accordingly.
- Participates in imaging conference presentations.
- Facilitates patient flow within the section and maintains a pro-active approach in dealing with patient concerns.
- Participates in Quality Assurance and quality control programs.
- Ensures that equipment failures are reported and documented.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
