About the Role:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role involves working closely with HR and finance teams, resolving payroll discrepancies, maintaining records, and responding to employee inquiries about compensation.
This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

  • Accurately process regular, bonus, and overtime payrolls for all employees.
  • Verify timekeeping data and ensure all hours worked are recorded properly.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records and documentation.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports as required.
  • Address and resolve employee inquiries about payroll discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance on payroll-related issues such as tax withholdings and deductions.
  • Manage and update payroll software and systems.
  • Collaborate with IT or software vendors to troubleshoot issues.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure proper documentation of employee changes.
  • Liaise with finance and treasury to ensure proper accounting and funding of payroll.
Critical Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven time management and project management ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Desire to work in an exciting, start-up environment that encourages individual growth and excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 3+ years payroll experience in medium sized / start up environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A)

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $75,000-$85,000
For all other states, the base salary pay range will be $65,000-$75,000
